Meeting Notice

Hi reader

Next meeting is this Friday 09 September 2022. Officially starting at 6 pm until about 9 pm, but if you can get there earlier, pull in.

Where?? 1000 Hills Brewing Company. Here
Why?? Because Megan Gemmell, Dion Van Huyssteen and Justin Clark will be talking about "Recipe Building". Learn to design your own brew.
Eat?? Yes please, 1000 Hills Chef School will be providing the best pizza this side of the Tugela.
What to bring?? Cash for drinks and food. Some beers you have brewed to share with fellow brewers or to swap. If you have a bad batch and you are not sure what up, PLEASE bring some with so that we can help identify wha-when-wong!!!
Who?? Anyone who is receiving this mail. Anyone who home brews beer. Anyone you know who is keen to learn about home brew. And NO, you don't have to bring beers you have brewed. Come along and socialize with like minded brew geeks (not that we see ourselves as geeks) Just let us know you are coming (and how many in your entourage) by return mail or on the 'whats app group'.

Please note: Venues provide us with free space for our meetings, out of courtesy, it would be appreciated, if you attend, to purchase a meal and at least one beer from our hosts.

What is BTS?

Every 3 months the club runs a Brew To Style competition. Members can submit beer entries for a predetermined subset of styles chosen from the 2015 BJCP style guide and we will judge them. The top 3 beers earn their brewers a certificate, a gift voucher from BeerBros and bragging rights. Occasionally the winners even get a limited run at one of our local Craft Breweries! How's that for bragging rights? BTS is not all about glory though, its a great way to explore other beer styles, get meaningful feedback from your brewing peers and push your brewing to the next level. Join in!

How do I enter?

Choose from one of the acceptable styles as above (you must specify the style for each entry), brew it the best you can and then drop off 3 x 440ml bottles of your beer for judging. Entry fee is R50 per entry and you can enter as many beers as you like. Members get their first entry of the year free!
BTS is deliciously sponsored by BeerBros. Shop online: www.beerbros.co.za
